I use majority MAC Cosmetics for face products but also use brands such as NARS, Stila, Urban Decay, Inglot, Estee Lauder, The Balm and an occasional drug store staple!
What is included in a makeup application?
When doing a makeover, I prep the skin with moisturiser or serum and a primer. I then apply foundation, concealer and powder. I continue by applying highlighting and contouring shades and adding blush to the apples of the cheeks. I then like to define the brows before beginning eye makeup. Eye makeup is completely up to the client as to whether they would prefer a bold look or a more natural look which does include the application of false eye lashes should the client want them. I then apply lip liner and lipstick and finish the look with the application of setting spray!
Should I bring pictures to my makeup appointment?
You are more than welcome to bring photos as inspiration for your makeup look! Just keep in mind that every person has different facial features and therefore the photo will be used as a base idea to better determine a look that will suit your personal features and skin tone!
Do you provide a hair-styling service?
I offer basic hair styling to those visiting my home studio for an extra cost. This includes GHD waves, curls or straighten. Please advise if you would like to add this service when booking. Although I do not offer bridal styling services, I recommend Emily from Emily's Mobile Hairdressing (link below) for any occasion!
Is your business registered and insured?
Yes, I value my client's safety and peace of mind and therefore am insured and registered.
How long does a makeup application take?
A makeup application usually takes approximately 45-50 minutes.
Do you provide a mobile service?
I provide a mobile service to all Bridal bookings (travel fee TBC) unless they wish to come to my home studio. I do not travel for groups of less than 3 people for special occasion makeups.
How should I prepare my skin?
I recommend preparing your skin by gently exfoliating your face the night before and applying a moisturiser. I would also suggest that if you like to have your eyebrows waxed or threaded, that you do this a minimum of 2 days before your appointment to ensure that your brows are looking fresh and that the surrounding skin isn't irritated. I also request that you arrive to your appointment with no makeup on as to maximise your time spent applying makeup rather than removing, however, I understand that this may not always be possible and therefore have cleansing products available.
What methods of payment do you accept?
I accept both cash and bank transfer.
How far in advance should I make an appointment?
I suggest making an appointment as soon as you decide that you would like your makeup done for a particular event! Appointments fill extremely quickly with most Saturday's and other popular dates booking out months in advance. Better safe and early than late and sorry!
